Celebrated wine and spirits merchant Berry Bros and Rudd are set to open their first dedicated spirits shop. The shop will be attached to their existing wine shop at Pall Mall, London.
More than just a regular whisky shop however, the new Berry Bros store will include experiential elements such as exclusive tasting rooms.
One of the features of the new store will be a Spirits Reserve Room, dedicated to the finest products from the world’s leading distillers. This will include large collections from the newest distilleries on the scene to a range of hidden gems from Scotland’s closed distilleries.
Additionally, the store is set to be decorated with furniture and fittings crafted from old whisky casks, as well as wood taken from elm trees in Speyside.
Berry Bros & Rudd creative director Geordie Willis, said: “We are delighted to open the doors of our first spirits shop as the latest iteration of our centuries-long commitment to curating the finest and rarest selection of spirits.”
Indeed, the “centuries long commitment” is no exaggeration; Berry Bros was founded as a grocers in 1698 and celebrated their 325th anniversary last year, making the firm the UK’s oldest wine and spirits merchant.
To celebrate the opening, Berry Bros will be releasing an exceptional single cask Bowmore for the occasion. Bottled at an impressive 55% ABV, this 26 year old expression will be limited to just 100 bottles available exclusively through the new store.
The new Berry Bros sprits shop will open April 2nd 2024.
