We’re not asking that in the metaphorical sense, as in ‘what lengths would you go to’. We literally mean, how far would you be willing to go to try some whiskey.
If your answer to that question is ‘quite far’, then a much-loved American whiskey producer has the perfect experience for you.
Buffalo Trace are taking their whiskey away from their Kentucky home and out into Wyoming plains for what is being billed as the most remote whiskey tasting room in the America.
Perfectly Untamed is a one-of-a-kind whiskey experience where guests can enjoy a two hour tasting in a floor-to-ceiling glass-walled room located in the plains of Wyoming, surrounded by herds of wild buffalo. The private tastings are led by Bourbon Hall of Fame Inductee and Buffalo Trace’s VIP visitor lead, Freddie Johnson.
The distillery has partnered with Buffalo Field Campaign on the experience, with donations being made to the organisation’s efforts to preserve and protect the last remaining wild buffalo in the US and their natural habitat.
Understandably, spaces for such a unique experience are incredibly limited. Only six reservations will be available, with each reservation being limited to two guests. Attendees will also be gifted a US$1,000 for travel expenses and curated recommendations for accommodation.

Once reservations have been confirmed, attendees will be asked to make a US$500 donation to Buffalo Field Campaign to finalise their participation.

“With Perfectly Untamed, we set out to build more than a tasting room – we wanted to build a place where time could stand still. Deep in the perfectly untamed Wyoming wilderness, guests will sip as buffalo roam free, a reminder that there is still room for power, determination, and a little reflection.”
