Kingsbarns Distillery have relaunched a ‘pay-what-you-like’ option for the tours at their visitor centre, ensuring their award winning facilities are available for everyone.
The flexibly priced tours at the distillery based near St Andrews, Fife, will run twice daily and highlight the history of the distillery and give visitors an insight into the production process behind either their Kingsbarns whisky or Darnleys gin. Like all good distillery tours, the experience is topped off with a sample of either their whisky or gin.
Tickets for the hour long tour normally cost £14, but for a limited time guests are able to pay what they like. The tickets are free and visitors can contribute what they feel comfortable with at the end of the tour.
This is the second time the distillery have ran such an initiative, having also offered a pay what you like option between November 2022 and March 2023.
At the launch of the initial scheme, Kingsbarns Distillery Manager said that they “wanted to ensure our award-winning distillery was accessible to everyone and provide a fun day out for locals and tourists alike” in light of the financial difficulties many were facing at the time.
Indeed, the cost of living pressures continue for many and we’re sure the expansion of the flexible pricing option will be welcomed by whisky connoisseurs and novices alike.
The current offer runs until the end of February 2024 so be sure to get yourself to Fife and enjoy the tour at Kingsbarns. Tickets are available through Kingsbarns’ website.
