Fans of whisky and rugby might just have a little bit more to celebrate this Christmas, with 'liquid gold' hidden inside several of Edinburgh Rugby's official 2024 whisky advent calendars.
Scottish rugby stars Duhan van der Merwe and Pierre Schoeman - quite possibly two of the largest and most mischievous Christmas elves you will ever see - have not only added a 3cl dram of their brand new Hirundine 12 Year Old to each calendar, but have sneaked in special drams topped with gold wax to only three calendars. Once discovered, these golden drams can be exchanged for a signed, 70cl bottle of their spectacular single malt, distilled in the Speyside region of Scotland.

This year's calendar has a '1st XV' theme, with each of the 15 windows attributed to a member of Edinburgh Rugby's starting line-up. The 15 drams are equally well-regarded, with drams being chosen from an impressive list featuring the likes of Daftmill 2007 Winter Batch, Kilkerran 16 Year Old and a single cask Macallan bottled by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society.
As with all whisky bottles, the labels can be scanned using the Bevvy app, allowing the user to explore more information about the dram, browse tasting notes, watch video content and add their own ratings.
Priced at £45 with free shipping (while stocks last), these calendars are exclusive to the Bevvy app.
