A tasting event held at MaltLive Dubai 2025 has officially entered the history books by establishing a new world record.
MaltLive - the UAE-based edition of the reputed Whisky Live festival - held a masterclass on 22nd February that featured guests from only 60 different countries, earning the Guinness World Record for most nationalities attending a whisky masterclass.
The event was hosted by Benbecula Distillery and Malt Society Arabia, with the tasting being led by Benbecula’s master distiller.
Over two days, more than 6,000 people attended MaltLive - an impressive feat for an event in their second year. In addition to the masterclass and the opportunity to sample from dozens of distilleries, guests enjoyed live entertainment, an exclusive VIP lounge and a cigar park.
MaltLive also hosted the Icons of Whisky Middle East & Africa 2025 - an awards ceremony celebrating members of the whisky world and their contributions to the industry.
MaltLive have confirmed they will go ahead next year for the 2026 edition. Whether or not the third MaltLive event will feature another impressive record breaking tasting remains to be seen - we’re sure it will be a can’t miss festival all the same.
