Against the Grain, the whisky company founded by Scottish Rugby sensations Pierre Schoeman and Duhan van Der Merwe, have released the first core expression of their Hirundine range - a stunning 12 year old Speyside single malt.

The latest Hirundine follows the success of the two limited edition blended Scotch whiskies released by the fledgling brand.

Schoeman and van Der Merwe are thrilled to reveal their first non-limited whisky because it will introduce the Hirundine name to a wider whisky audience. For example, the Hirundine 12 year old will be made available in bars throughout the UK in the near future.

Against the Grain and Hirundine is more than just a vanity project for the rugby stars; the pair are passionate about Scotch whisky and are incredibly hands-on with every element of their whisky venture.

This 12 year old single malt comes from an unnamed Speyside distillery. Bottled at 46% ABV, this unpeated malt is clean and fresh with notes of vanilla, honey and citrus. It’s the perfect whisky to enjoy neat or as part of your favourite whisky-based cocktail.

Hirundine 12 year old Speyside single malt is available to purchase now for £75 per bottle through the bevvy app.
