Music and whisky - two wonderful art forms and two of life’s greatest pleasures. Islay’s Ardnahoe Distillery must be inclined to agree, as they have recently revealed their first global brand ambassadors: Scottish folk-rock band Skerryvore.

The announcement came during Feis Ile when Skerryvore arrived at Ardnahoe for a surprise performance.

Skerryvore were formed on the Isle of Tiree by brothers Daniel and Martin Gillespie, first performing in 2005. To mark their upcoming 20th anniversary, Ardnahoe will release a special celebratory bottling next year.

In their duties as ambassadors Skerryvore will bring whisky tasting events to cities throughout Europe and the USA on their upcoming tour. Whisky from Ardnahoe will take centre stage during these events, with bottles from owner Hunter Laing’s wider portfolio also on the bill.

Speaking of the partnership, Hunter Laing director Scott Laing said “It’s a huge honour to welcome the incredible Skerryvore aboard as Ardnahoe’s first ever global brand ambassadors. Like us, the band blends centuries of Scottish tradition with a fresh and modern approach - we feel it’s the perfect fit… we’re excited to see our partnership flourish and mature, allowing us to access a completely new audience in the places Skerryvore’s tour will take them to as they promote Scottish music and culture.”

Skerryvore’s Daniel Gillespie added: “We are thrilled to be partnering with Ardnahoe and really excited to begin our journey as brand ambassadors. It is a real privilege to be able to tour internationally promoting Scottish culture through our music, and there’s no better accompaniment to a good tune than an even better dram!”

Who are we to disagree? Pour yourself a dram, stick on your favourite tunes, and join us in wishing both parties all the best in their joint venture!
